Get active in Bridgwater with Age UK Somerset
Local charity, Age UK Somerset, is launching a brand-new exercise class for people over 60 in Bridgwater in 2023. Flexercise is a lively chair-based exercise class which uses fun props and laughter to get you moving in a relaxed, informal way. This new class is coming to the YMCA, Friarn Avenue, starting Thursday 2nd February, 10am. This weekly class costs just £3 per session- pre-booking is essential to secure your place. Age UK Somerset delivers a number of exercise and activity sessions for people over 60 in the Bridgwater area, there’s something for all tastes.
If yoga is more your style, then you could join a yoga-themed class at Sydenham Community Centre. Combining breathing and relaxation movements to balance the mind and improve flexibility, this yoga session can be enjoyed using a yoga mat, seated on a chair or in standing. The sessions are at 10:30 on Wednesday mornings and cost £5 – pre-booking is advised but drop ins are welcome.
In Pawlett, you can join the Mature Movers session for some lively movement to music at Pawlett Village Hall, Tuesdays at 2:30pm, £5 a session. And if for any reason you can’t get out and about, you can join an online class. Specially designed for people over 60, choose from Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates.
