As a consequence of the awful Spring and Summer and in the hope of improved weather conditions this Autumn, in line with their planning conditions, Gravity have notified the Somerset Council of their intention to extend the working week to include Saturday working for the month of October ….. subject to weather conditions.
The team at Gravity are making good progress with delivering the consented plateau to the approved levels on site, in accordance with the Remediation Consent. With the seasons changing and the challenges of working through the winter months they would like to make as much progress as possible through October, whilst the weather is remaining reasonably fair. With that in mind they wish to continue those site works each Saturday through October, starting on Saturday 7th and each Saturday through to Saturday 28th, so four Saturdays in total. The hours of operation would be 08:00 – 18:00.
Condition 2 of the permission states:
Within 500 metres of residential properties, the hours of working shall be limited to 8:00am to 6:00pm on Mondays to Fridays and no working on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays unless otherwise approved by the Local Planning Authority.
The works proposed to be undertaken will be located more than 500metres from any residential property and will primarily include the following activity:
Ongoing processing of onsite materials,
Breaking up of concrete in the ground, and
Cutting and filling to achieve the approved plateau levels (c.5.5AOD).
For clarity, there are no proposed HGV deliveries / imports during these days and if the weather is not favourable work will not take place.
